About ForWind – Center for Wind Energy Research

ForWind is a unique German research network bundling wind energy research from the Universities of Oldenburg, Hannover, and Bremen, covering engineering, physics, meteorology, computer science, and economics to bridge basic science with industry needs. It operates specialized facilities like the WindLab's turbulent wind tunnel and a research wind farm, focusing on areas like aerodynamics, materials, grid integration, and offers education for professionals, forming part of Germany's national wind energy research landscape with DLR and Fraunhofer IWES. 

Available Positions

PhD Position / Research Assistant (f/m/d) Analysis for lidar-based minute-scale power forecasting of offshore wind farms

Process and analyze large lidar and wind farm datasets, develop forecasting algorithms, collaborate internationally, and pursue a PhD in a flexible, multidisciplinary research environment.

Postdoc (f/m/d) Remote sensing for analysing flow physics of offshore wind farm clusters

Advance remote sensing for offshore wind clusters using lidar, radar, and SAR; analyze data, develop forecasting, collaborate with industry, and support measurement campaigns. Python and PhD required.
