Mizoram University (MZU), a Central University accredited Grade “A+” by NAAC in 2025, has released Employment Notice No. 1-47/Estt.I/15/Vol.II/130-149. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) for filling up various Teaching positions and Assistant Librarian posts.

The recruitment drive covers multiple Schools of Studies including Humanities, Education, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Medical Sciences. Additionally, applications are invited for the post of Principal at Pachhunga University College.

The posts carry pay as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

1. Assistant Professor

• General/Arts/Science: Master’s degree with 55% marks + NET/SLET/SET qualified.

  • Exemption: Candidates with Ph.D. awarded as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET.

• Education (B.Ed/M.Ed Level): Postgraduate degree in relevant subject (55%) + M.Ed (55%) + NET in Education.

• Management: Bachelor’s in any discipline + Master’s in Business Admin/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com with First Class. Two years of professional experience is required.

• Engineering: First Class Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering & Technology.

• Tourism: Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Tourism & Hospitality Management with First Class in either.

2. Associate Professor

• Qualification: Ph.D. Degree in relevant discipline + Master's Degree with 55% marks.

• Experience: Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience at Assistant Professor level.

• Research Output: Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals.

• Research Score: A total Research Score of 75 (as per UGC criteria).

• Architecture: B.Arch + M.Arch (60% marks) + 8 years experience.

3. Professor

• Qualification: Ph.D. Degree + High quality published work.

• Experience: Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience.

• Research Output: Minimum 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

• Research Score: A total Research Score of 120.

• Guidance: Evidence of successfully guided doctoral candidates.

4. Principal (Pachhunga University College)

• Qualification: Ph.D. Degree.

• Experience: Professor/Associate Professor with 15 years of total experience in teaching/research.

• Research: Minimum 10 publications and Research Score of 110.

5. Assistant Librarian

• Qualification: Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science (55%).

• Exam: Must have cleared NET/SLET/SET.

• Skills: Knowledge of library computerization.

Selection Process & Methodology

The University will follow a multi-stage selection process:

Stage 1: Screening & Shortlisting

• Applications will be screened by a Screening Committee.

• System Generated Score vs Final Score: The API score generated by the portal is not final. The Screening Committee will verify claims (publications, experience) and calculate the final score.

• Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their Academic/Research scores and eligibility.

• Criteria for Shortlisting: Based on UGC Regulations 2018 (Annexure I for Asst Prof University, Annexure II for Colleges, Annexure III for Assoc/Prof).

Stage 2: Interview

• Mode: Offline, Online, or Blended mode.

• Candidates must produce "Integrity Certificate" and "Vigilance Clearance Certificate" at the time of the interview (if already employed).

• Original Documents: Must be produced for verification.

Stage 3: Verification

• Antecedents and documents (Caste, EWS status, Degrees) will be verified before or during the appointment.

• Fake Documents: Will lead to immediate termination of service.

Important Note on Research Score (Part F):

• Research Papers: 8 marks (Science), 10 marks (Humanities) per paper.

• Books: 12 marks (International), 10 marks (National).

• Research Guidance: 10 marks per Ph.D. awarded.

• Score Augmentation: Points added for high Impact Factor journals (e.g., >10 IF adds 30 points).

2. Form Filling

• Register with email and mobile number.

• Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and experience.

• Upload Documents: Self-attested copies of Mark sheets, Caste Certificates, and Publications.

• Upload API Score: Fill and upload the relevant Annexure (I, II, III, or IV) for the API score self-assessment.

3. Payment

• Pay the fee online via the portal.

4. Hard Copy Submission (MANDATORY)

• After online submission, print the application form.

• Bind the application properly with all enclosures (Certificates, Proof of Fee, API Annexures).

• Envelope Label: Superscribe the envelope with: “Application for the post of [Name of Post], Name of Department [Dept Name]”.
