Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Must be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.

• Year of Study: Must have completed at least two years of law classes and be considered a 3L student.

• Skills: Proficiency in online legal research tools and strong communication skills.

• Requirement: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Internship Duration

Year-Round / Part-Time Work schedule averages 20 hours per week.

Stipend Details

$26.83 – $27.78 per hour (Based on qualifications/experience)

Roles & Responsibilities

Interns work under the supervision of the Municipal Counselor. Duties include:

• Litigation Support: Assist in Municipal Court cases (Criminal Justice division) and prepare claim files for potential litigation.

• Research & Drafting: Draft legal memoranda, opinions, ordinances, proclamations, and resolutions.

• Court Representation: Licensed Legal Interns may represent the City in District Court and Municipal criminal prosecution as allowed by law.

• Administrative: Answer citizen inquiries and file court documents.
