The United Nations Development Programme has officially opened applications for the Summer 2026 Intern, Climate and Sustainability position based in Singapore, hosted by UNDP Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei Darussalam. This short-term internship offers motivated students and recent graduates a chance to work directly with UNDP’s Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development, supporting real-world climate action, sustainability policy, and international development initiatives. What You’ll Actually Do

This is a practical, learning-focused internship. Your work may include:

Research & Thought Leadership (30%)

  • Support analysis on circular economy, decarbonisation, and air quality policies

  • Help draft blogs, policy briefs, and reports

  • Contribute to climate-focused publications and capacity-building programs

Partnerships & Advocacy (20%)

  • Assist in identifying climate and sustainability partners across Singapore and globally

  • Help build meaningful collaborations with public and private stakeholders

Events & Communications (30%)

  • Support webinars, workshops, and training programs

  • Help design presentations, infographics, and visual materials for major events like the World Cities Summit

Learning & Networking (20%)

  • Take part in UNDP learning sessions

  • Attend sustainability and innovation networking events across Singapore

Who Can Apply?

You’re eligible if you:

  • Are in your final year of a Bachelor’s degree, OR

  • Are currently enrolled in a Master’s program, OR

  • Graduated within the last 12 months

UNDP is looking for candidates who show:

  • Strong interest in climate change and sustainability

  • Good research and writing skills

  • Basic experience with reports, blogs, or webinars

  • Comfort using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)

  • Bonus: Canva, PowerBI, or data visualization tools

  • Fluent English required

Experience in international development is helpful, but not mandatory.

  • Interns arrange their own visa, travel, housing, and insurance
