About the Digital Justice Work at UNDP

UNDP is expanding its regional work on Digital Justice and Responsible AI in Justice Systems. This includes:

• Court digitalization and online justice services

• AI-assisted adjudication and decision-making tools

• Data protection, judicial integrity, and ethical AI

• Human rights safeguards in emerging technologies

The intern will support research, policy development, knowledge management, and programme activities related to how technology and AI are reshaping justice systems in the Asia-Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Policy Support (60%)

• Conduct desk research on digital justice, AI in justice systems, and global/regional trends

• Support drafting of policy briefs, concept notes, presentations, and analytical summaries

• Work on topics such as:

  • AI-assisted courts

  • Online dispute resolution

  • Technology-enabled access to justice

  • Ethical and responsible AI frameworks

• Document case studies, good practices, and lessons learned from Asia-Pacific countries

Knowledge Management & Communications (30%)

• Develop knowledge products such as briefs, factsheets, presentations, and web content

• Maintain and update knowledge repositories, digital platforms, and databases

• Support the Regional Community of Practice on justice innovation and digital transformation

Other Support (10%)

• Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions

• Support additional tasks assigned by the RoLSHR team

Who Can Apply?

Education

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• Final year of a Bachelor’s degree

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree

• Graduated within the last 1 year

Relevant fields include:
Technology & Society, Digital Governance, International Development, Law, Political Science, Sociology, or related Social Sciences/Humanities.

Prior knowledge of Rule of Law or Justice Reform in Asia is a strong advantage.

Skills & Experience

• Strong interest in AI, digital governance, justice reform, and human rights

• Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills in English

• Ability to simplify complex technical or policy concepts

• Familiarity with:

  • Digital tools and knowledge platforms

  • Data visualization or AI tools (asset)

Language Requirements

• English: Required

• Other UN languages: Advantage

Internship Stipend & Conditions

• Monthly Stipend: Provided as per UNDP internship policy

  • Reference (2025): THB 8,302.50/month

  • 2026 stipend subject to revision

• Interns must arrange visa, travel, accommodation, and insurance themselves
