Safety, Support & Orientation

Orientation includes an overview of Nepal’s healthcare system, basic Nepali language lessons, cultural and gender norms, placement details, and an introduction to Nepali cuisine. Interns also enjoy a guided Kathmandu city tour, visiting landmarks such as Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath.

Accommodation & Meals

During orientation, interns stay with a host family or in a guesthouse. After placement, accommodation is arranged near the hospital or health center. Rooms are simple yet comfortable, with two traditional Nepali meals provided daily. Village placements may have limited facilities, but they offer a deeply authentic cultural experience.
