National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Government of India, has announced a major recruitment drive for Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) through GATE 2025. The recruitment aims to hire young, talented, and result-oriented engineering graduates to support NALCO’s ongoing growth and expansion across its multi-location operations in India and abroad.

Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) – Vacancy Details

NALCO invites applications for 110 Graduate Engineer Trainee posts across three engineering disciplines:

  • Mechanical Engineering: 59 posts

  • Electrical Engineering: 27 posts

  • Chemical Engineering: 24 posts

Reservations for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, and PwBD candidates are applicable as per Government of India norms, including backlog vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a full-time regular Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with:

  • Minimum 65% marks for UR / EWS / OBC (NCL)

  • Minimum 55% marks for SC / ST / PwBD

Final-year engineering students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree with the required percentage before the personal interview.

Only degrees from UGC-recognised universities or AICTE-approved institutions are accepted.

Discipline-wise eligible degrees:

  • Mechanical: Mechanical Engineering

  • Electrical: Electrical / Power / Electrical & Electronics Engineering

  • Chemical: Chemical Engineering or M.Tech in Applied Chemistry

Candidates with degrees outside the specified disciplines are not eligible.

GATE Requirement

  • Applicants must have qualified GATE 2025

  • Only GATE 2025 scores will be considered

  • Relevant GATE papers:

    • Mechanical – ME

    • Electrical – EE

    • Chemical – CH

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 30 years as on 22 January 2026

  • Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD candidates as per Government rules

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of:

  1. Shortlisting based on GATE 2025 scores, discipline-wise and category-wise

  2. Personal Interview, with candidates called in a 1:10 ratio

  3. Final merit based on:

    • GATE 2025 marks – 90% weightage

    • Personal Interview – 10% weightage

All eligibility details will be verified during the interview stage.

Pay Scale & Career Growth

During Training (1 Year)

  • Pay Scale: ₹40,000 – 3% – ₹1,40,000

  • Starting Basic Pay: ₹40,000

  • Additional benefits include DA, medical facilities, PRP, accommodation, and superannuation benefits

After Training

On successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (E1 Grade) with:

  • Pay Scale: ₹60,000 – 3% – ₹1,80,000

  • One additional increment at the time of absorption

Service Bond & Posting

  • Selected candidates must sign a service bond of ₹3,00,000 (₹4,00,000 for foreign training)

  • Minimum service period: 4 years after training

  • Posting can be at any NALCO unit in India or abroad, including subsidiaries and joint ventures

Application Fee

  • UR / OBC / EWS: ₹500

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Departmental: ₹100

Fees must be paid online through SBI Collect and are non-refundable.
