The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for the Summer 2026 Internship Program in Washington, DC.

These internships are designed to equip the next generation of global security experts with practical experience in reducing nuclear, biological, and emerging technology threats.

Compensation & Benefits

NTI offers a competitive tiered pay structure based on education level:

• Undergraduate Students: $18.00 per hour

• Master’s Students: $19.50 per hour

• PhD Students: $21.00 per hour

Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Undergraduate students (with at least two years of study), graduate students, or PhD candidates.

• Residency: Must establish local residence in Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia for the internship duration.

• Work Authorization: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US. (International students on F-1 visas must have CPT/OPT authorization prior to the start date).

• Commitment: Must work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
