About the Office (RoLSHR – Bangkok Regional Hub)

The internship is hosted by the Rule of Law and Human Rights (RoLSHR) Unit, part of UNDP’s Governance and Peacebuilding Team at the Bangkok Regional Hub.

The RoLSHR unit supports countries across Asia-Pacific in strengthening:

  • Rule of Law and Human Rights

  • Access to Justice and SDG 16

  • Gender Justice and Women’s Leadership

  • Environmental and Digital Justice

The team also manages regional knowledge platforms, communities of practice, policy dialogues, and advocacy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Outreach (50%)

  • Track viewership, reach, and engagement across digital platforms

  • Create communication and advocacy materials including newsletters, briefs, press releases, and campaigns

  • Coordinate communication activities across countries, ensuring consistency with UNDP branding and donor guidelines

  • Develop short- and long-term communication plans to enhance programme visibility

  • Report on communication outputs and impact, adapting strategies to regional trends

Knowledge Management & Event Coordination (40%)

  • Support the organization of workshops, forums, policy dialogues, and events

  • Maintain and update knowledge management repositories and digital platforms

  • Assist with data collection and analysis for monitoring and evaluation

  • Support the Regional Community of Practice on Rule of Law and Human Rights

Other Duties (10%)

  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions

  • Support additional tasks assigned by the supervisor and RoLSHR team

Eligibility Criteria

Education

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Final year of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree

  • Graduated within the last 1 year (Bachelor’s or Master’s)

Relevant fields:
Communication, Journalism, International Development, Law, Political Science, Sociology, or related Social Sciences/Humanities disciplines.

Knowledge of Rule of Law and Human Rights in Asia-Pacific is a strong asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interest in international organizations and UN work

  • Excellent written and drafting skills in English

  • Ability to organize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently

  • Positive, proactive, and culturally sensitive mindset

IT & Digital Skills (Asset)

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Adobe tools (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator)

  • Data visualization tools (Sway, Airtable, etc.)

  • Video editing experience is a plus

Language Requirements

  • English: Required

  • Other UN languages: Advantage

Internship Conditions & Stipend

  • Monthly Stipend: Provided as per UNDP internship policy

    • Reference (2025): THB 8,302.50 per month

    • 2026 amount subject to revision

  • Interns must arrange visa, travel, accommodation, and insurance independently

  • Internship does not lead to employment with UNDP
