About UN SDG Action Campaign

The UN SDG Action Campaign, hosted by UNDP, is a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General. Based in Bonn, the Campaign works to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by amplifying unheard voices, supporting changemakers, and using creativity to inspire global action.

Its work focuses on:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Communications Specialist, the intern will:

  • Create visual assets for advocacy and communication campaigns

  • Design PowerPoint presentations, reports, and publications following UN branding

  • Develop infographics and social media visuals for digital platforms

  • Support production of event materials (banners, posters, promotional designs)

  • Assist with multimedia assets for the UN SDG Action Awards

  • Contribute to other communication-related tasks as required

Eligibility & Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following at the time of application:

  • Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme

Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects)

  • Experience with Canva

  • Background in graphic design or communication design is an asset

  • Familiarity with the UN system is an advantage

Language Requirements

  • English: Required

  • Knowledge of another UN official language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is an asset

Internship Conditions

  • Monthly stipend provided as per UNDP Internship Policy

  • UNDP does not cover medical insurance or travel expenses

  • Interns must arrange their own visa for Germany

  • Internship does not guarantee employment within the UN system
