MobilizeGreen Announces Exciting 2026 Youth Conservation Opportunities with U.S. Forest Service

Great news for young people who love nature and want to make a difference! MobilizeGreen, in partnership with the USDA Forest Service, has officially announced its 2026 Youth Conservation Program. This is your chance to spend a meaningful summer learning about the environment, building leadership skills, and protecting America's beautiful forests—all while earning a stipend. Applications are now open for Crew Leaders, Overnight Crew Members, and Virtual Interns.

What is the MobilizeGreen Youth Program?

This is a special summer program for high school students and young leaders. It's a hands-on way to get into conservation work. You will team up with the U.S. Forest Service on real projects like trail building, habitat restoration, and environmental education. The goal is to create the next generation of environmental stewards through teamwork, outdoor adventure, and professional growth.

Available Summer Opportunities for 2026

MobilizeGreen is hiring for three main types of positions across the country:

1. Youth Conservation Crew Leader (For Young Adults 21+)

• What You'll Do: Lead a team of high school students for 8 weeks in Northern Minnesota's Superior National Forest. You will manage conservation projects, teach outdoor skills, and ensure everyone's safety while living on-site.

• What You Get: $800 weekly stipend, all travel, housing, and meals covered. Free Wilderness First Aid & CPR certification, top-notch training, and mentorship from Forest Service experts.

• You Must Be: 21+, a U.S. citizen, with experience in youth mentorship and the outdoors. A valid driver's license is required.

2. Overnight Youth Conservation Crew Member (For High School Students 15-18)

• What You'll Do: Live and work with a crew for 3 weeks in amazing places like Northern Minnesota or Southern California. Projects include trail maintenance, habitat work, and beach cleanups.

• What You Get: $375 weekly stipend. All flights, housing, and food are completely paid for. Experience camping, hiking, and learning about green careers.

• You Must Be: 15-18 years old, enrolled in high school, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. No prior experience is needed—just a positive attitude!

3. Virtual Youth Conservation Intern (For High School Students 15-18)

• What You'll Do: Join a 3-week online program from home. Learn about wildfire ecology, environmental resilience, and green STEM careers through interactive virtual lessons and team projects.

• What You Get: A $250 weekly stipend for your participation. Build leadership skills and connect with students from across the USA.

• You Must Be: 15-18 years old, able to commit to the full online schedule (June or July 2026).
