About MERL

The Motivation in Education Research Lab (MERL) is a specialized unit within the Physical Education and Sport Science Department. Its mission is two-fold:

Position Overview: Research Fellow

• Location: NTU Main Campus, Singapore

Key Responsibilities & Leadership Roles

Research leadership and execution:

• Write grant proposals and secure research funding
• Conceptualise studies and develop research designs
• Plan, execute, and manage research projects end-to-end
• Analyse data and synthesize findings
• Disseminate research through publications, presentations, and practitioner-oriented outputs

Academic mentorship and service:

• Serve as a resource person for junior research staff and graduate students
• Provide guidance on research methods, analysis, and scholarly writing

Lab operations and engagement:

• Organise academic activities (e.g., seminars, workshops)
• Maintain and update the MERL website
• Oversee lab inventories and risk management protocols to ensure compliance and safety
• Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator
